The Kawazu-zakura cherry blossoms have become famous as some of the earliest-blooming cherry blossoms in Tokyo's outlying areas. (Typically, cherry trees bloom in Tokyo between late March and early April.) The flowers' outstanding characteristic is that they are large and pink. There are 8,000 cherry trees in Kawazu, and the area holds "The Kawazu-zakura Cherry Blossom Festival" in the blossoming season, to which a million both Japanese and foreign tourists come.
In addition, "Kawazu" is also famous for being a flower growing town for flowers other than the cherry. The "Iris" has been designated as the flower of the town, and we are proud to be the largest exporter of Irises in the Kanto area.
There are facilities where you can enjoy the gentle aroma and brilliant colors of carnations. The "Kawazu Bagatelle Park" is the sister park of the Bagatelle Park in Paris, where you can enjoy viewing various flowers which are rare in Japan, in the setting of a French style garden.
